Along with traditional lessons, discussion and case studies, there is a strong emphasis on practical activities across all sport courses. A Level PE students are required to demonstrate their practical performance in a chosen sport. BTEC Sport students undertake a range of practical and applied assessments using Worthing College’s modern sports facilities.

Expert teachers provide 1:1 support throughout your course, with extra sessions available outside of lesson time. Sport and PE students also benefit from performance feedback, coaching sessions and access to sports analysis resources.

A Level Physical Education (AQA)

2-year A Level combining theoretical study with practical performance in a chosen sport.

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport

Full-time vocational qualification with continuous assessment across sport performance, coaching and exercise science.

BTEC Level 3 Sport & Exercise Science

Focuses on the science behind sport and physical performance, including anatomy, physiology and psychology.

Careers in sport and physical education

A qualification in Sport or Physical Education opens doors to a wide range of careers in the sport and health sector. Students who have studied Sport and PE at Worthing College have progressed to degrees in Sport Science, Exercise Science, Physiotherapy, Sports Coaching, Nutrition, Physical Education and Health & Fitness at universities including the University of Brighton, University of Sussex and the University of Portsmouth.
