The team travelled the 35 miles to Surrey Sports Park on 18th November, where they competed against the best teams across the South-East, delivering an outstanding performance to secure the title.

The team opened their campaign with a hard-fought 18-15 victory over Reigate College, followed by a dominant 36-17 win against Queen Mary College. Their momentum continued as they triumphed 23-15 over BHASVIC, topping their pool and advancing to the quarterfinals.

In the quarterfinals, Worthing overcame a strong Peter Symonds side 31-15, before edging past previously unbeaten Esher College in a nail-biting semi-final, winning 20–17 to secure their place in the final.

The final then saw the team go up against last year’s winners, Brockenhurst College. The team produced their best performance of the whole competition, winning the final 25-13 to become the AOC Regional Champions.

Helena Thomas, Principal of Worthing College and Northbrook College, said:
“This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of our players and coaching staff. We are incredibly proud of the team and excited to see them represent the South-East at the national finals.”

They will now go on to represent the Southeast region at the AOC National Championship finals, held at Nottingham University next year, alongside the college’s Women’s Rugby Team. They will both be competing for the Wilkinson Sword, which is awarded to the best region in the country.
