Bright futures are firmly in sight for students at Worthing College as they look ahead to the next exciting step in their education journey.

Worthing College students Lila Roberts and Alice Taylor who have been offered places at some of the leading universities

With exam season under way, determination is high – and for many, hard work is already paying off, with offers arriving from top universities, including prestigious Russell Group institutions.

Among those students are Alice Taylor and Lila Roberts who both received offers from five universities.

Alice, who went to Davison High School for Girls, is studying A-level Geography, Psychology and Biology. She has offers to study Environmental Science at Cardiff, Southampton, Bath Spa and Surrey, and another offer to study Geography at Bristol University.

She said: “I have really enjoyed my time at college and have had fantastic teachers who have been really helpful and encouraging throughout the two years and have been especially helpful in providing any extra support that I have needed.

“I think the college has provided many opportunities. One that I took part in was for helping interview candidates for a lead role in the college where they would be head of student support and decision making for things within the college, such as curriculum and teaching decisions.”

Alice plans to take a take a gap year initially to work and travel with friends at the beginning of 2027 for six months then return and start university in September 2027.

She added: “I’m not too sure exactly what job I would like to do after university. However, I would like to go down the political and policy side of environmental science such as mitigating climate change and being a part of global environmental decisions as it is a significant topic of interest crisis at this point in time and for the future.”

Lila attended Bohunt School and is studying A-level Psychology, A-level English Literature and Language and a BTEC in Digital Media Cam-Tech. She has offers from Cardiff, Exeter, Bristol, Southampton and Surrey.

Talking about her time at Worthing College and plans for the future, Lila said: “I found Progression Plus to be very helpful and informative. I was given many opportunities to attend informative university fairs and talks which were helpful.

“After university, I want to be a writer or go into the film industry, possible even scriptwriting. But my main goal is to become a published author.”
