Work is now well underway to ensure the new locations are up-and-running, ready for September 2025 with courses moving from Northbrook College’s Broadwater site to either West Durrington campus or the Worthing College site.

Helena Thomas, Principal of Northbrook College and Worthing College, explains more: “Over the past months, our teams have been working incredibly hard to plan the moves for our Broadwater-based subject areas when we leave the site this summer.

UPDATE ON NEW CENTRES
Both sites at West Durrington and Worthing College are undergoing significant development to accommodate the courses that are moving.

Helena said: “Work is taking place at West Durrington to build our new state-of-the-art Construction Trades Centre, which is on schedule to be ready for the start of the academic year. This will house our construction courses, including brickwork and carpentry.

“At Worthing College, parts of the site are undergoing transformative work to provide engineering workshops and specialist classrooms which will house a wide range of industry standard technology that will support students’ learning.

“The equipment at Broadwater will be packed up and moved over the summer, so our engineering students will be learning in a wonderful, newly renovated space which will form the heart of our new STEM Centre facilities. We are also undertaking work at the Worthing site to transform spaces into new classrooms, as well as extend our cafeteria area and student union spaces

“It’s such an exciting time for all of us, with much change as we further transform these campuses to create more opportunities for our students and to continue to deliver exceptional teaching and learning in our modern facilities.

“Whether at our Northbrook or Worthing campuses, our students will enjoy a vibrant and inspiring environment where they will learn and grow.

“For students who will be completing their studies at a different campus in September, we want to reassure you that the services you have received at Broadwater will still be there to support you at West Durrington or Worthing.

“You will continue to enjoy access to our amazing Northbrook and Worthing Student Unions, alongside the fantastic events and activities that they arrange throughout the year. You can also expect to continue to receive first class pastoral care from our tutoring teams, who will be on hand to support your studies as well your transition from Broadwater to your new campus.”
