Mark Rugman
Mark Rugman – Teacher of Sport
Sport development has been the major focus in my career. Seeing the power of sport change peoples’ lives made me pursue a career in sport development, and then eventually teaching. I have graduated with the high grades in both my Bachelor of Arts in Sport Development and Masters of Art in Marketing Management.
I have taught all aspects of BTEC Sport and A-level Physical Education focusing more on the anatomy side of the course. Since becoming a teacher, I have also coached rugby and now studying towards my Advanced Coaching Badge.
I have played and coached in most sports, focussing more on rugby, football, hockey and golf. I played for the South of England in both hockey and golf, and currently coach the nationally recognised Women’s Rugby Programme. I currently coach rugby at the Centre of Excellence for Harlequins Women’s and the DPP U16s programme for boys.
We are an outstanding provider (Ofsted 2019) and we are the Number 1 FE Sporting College in the UK (School Sport Magazine 2020) which makes Worthing one of the best in the country for supporting the academic athlete!
