Darren Borg
Darren Borg – Subject Leader for Film, Art, Media and Digital Media
Darren has taught at the Worthing College campus since January 2016 and was part of the staff team who saw Chichester College Group (CCG) achieve an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted grade in May 2020. Darren currently teaches and subject leads Media Studies, Film Studies and Digital Media. Darren studied Media and Film Studies at the University of Winchester and completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Further Education at the University of Greenwich.
Darren is a self-confessed film enthusiast, who often attends film events such as festivals, director Q&As and lectures as a member of the British Film Institute (BFI). Darren has a keen interest in a range of different film genres, movements and styles from across the world, from the silent era to contemporary cinema. Darren has written for a number of print and online publications, such as the independent film magazine Film Stories and the international sports news site Vavel, publishing well-received articles and conducting interviews with Academy Award-winning artists, former Premier League footballers and chart-topping musicians.
Darren believes that the media influences, shapes and defines our daily lives and to study the subject area is to broaden your understanding of the past, present and future.
