Worthing College Students Celebrate Success and Bright Futures on Results Day 

Nervous anticipation and moments of pure joy set the scene at Worthing College today (Thursday 13 August) as students collected their A Level and T Level results.  

On one of the warmest days of the year, a cool wall of blue and white Worthing College balloons greeted students as they arrived in the building and made their way through reception and up to the Exhibition Hall. 

From around 9am, students started to arrive in the hall to discover the results of two years of hard work and dedication.  

And the hall was soon filled with scenes of delight, joy and celebration as students opened their envelopes to reveal their results and share their achievements, with some of their lecturers in attendance to support and share the moment. 

Among those celebrating outstanding achievement was Isaac Hewitt who secured the results he needed to go to The University of Oxford with an A* in Further Maths, A in Computer Science and B in Physics. Last year, he achieved an A* in Maths. 

Isaac, who will study for a Maths Degree, said: “I’m over the moon. 

“It’s been quite a long time to wait and my nerves have picked up over the last few weeks. Yes, it’s just a huge relief this morning having a look and the offer being there. 

“The teachers have been incredible, my maths teacher, the teacher that helped me in the academy – just the amount of preparation, not just for A Levels but all the application and entrance exams and just all the help that I’ve got – I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for that.” 

Keisha Jaboli gained As in Chemistry, Maths and Physics and has an offer to go to Nottingham University to study for an Integrated Masters in Physics. 

Asked if all the hard work, effort and determination had all paid off, she said: “Yeah, oh definitely.” 

She added: “It was a good brain work out definitely and it all paid off.” 

Daniel Hitchcock was also celebrating success after achieving A* in Maths, A in Computer Science and A in Economics. 

He plans to return to the college in September to study for A Level Further Maths and apply to study Computer Science at university. 

After collecting his results and asked how he felt, he said: “Quite ecstatic really – I managed to get what I need and it’s tough to get that.”

Asked how he found his two years at the college, Daniel said: “I found them really good. I thought A Levels were quite chill – they weren’t, you know, too stressful. 

“And this college just being so close and the teachers are really supportive, so it’s really nice.”
