Several A-level chemistry students from Worthing College showcased their talent in the Royal Society of Chemistry UK national Chemistry Olympiad.

The competition challenges students across the country to push their understanding of chemistry further, developing problem-solving skills and applying their knowledge to real-world scenarios.

Eight students from Worthing College took part in the challenge, with five students being awarded silver certificates, and three earning bronze certificates.

The competition, held annually, consists of three stages, including a written exam, and finishing with the selection of four students to represent the UK at the International Chemistry Olympiad.

Helena Thomas, Principal of Worthing College and Northbrook College, said:
“Our chemistry students have done an incredible job in this year’s UK Chemistry Olympiad, showing real dedication and talent. Their success highlights the ambition and high standards that we set ourselves at Worthing College.

“Taking on this challenge not only tests their knowledge but also builds problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Their achievements reflect their hard work and passion for the subject.

“We’re so proud of them and excited to see where their love for chemistry takes them next!”
