We look at each application individually, considering your grades, interview and any relevant experience. We typically expect students to have achieved 64 UCAS points or MPP in a Level 3 diploma, alongside grade 4 in GCSE English and Maths. Mature students who don’t meet these standard entry requirements may be able to show us their potential through relevant experience. Applicants whose first language is not English and who do not have GCSE English will be asked to take an IELTS assessment or equivalent and will need to achieve an overall score of 6.0, with 6.0 in the writing element and at least 5.5 in all other sub elements.

After completing the FdSc Sport, Exercise and Health Science, students can progress to Year 3 (Level 6) at the University of Chichester and top up to a full BSc (Hons) degree in Sport and Exercise Science or PE and Sport Coaching. Graduates are well prepared for careers in sport, health and fitness, including roles such as exercise physiologist, personal trainer, sports coach, sports therapist, fitness centre manager, nutritionist, health improvement practitioner and sport and exercise psychologist.
Assessment on the FdSc Sport, Exercise and Health Science is varied, practical and designed to reflect industry practice. Students are assessed through practical workshops, laboratory activities, presentations, reports, research projects, professional discussions and written assignments. Learning is supported through lectures, seminars, group discussions, tutorials and independent study. Work-based learning enables students to apply theory in real-world settings, while visits to the University of Chichester provide access to specialist sports science laboratories and altitude rooms, helping develop advanced practical skills and prepare for future study and careers.
In addition to tuition fees, students may choose to purchase textbooks, a personal laptop and printing materials to support their studies. Some courses may also include optional field trips. A Foundation Degree kit package is required for practical sessions and can be purchased through Broadwater Sports, with details provided by course lecturers upon enrolment.
