Worthing College scoops awards at Dance Live! heats
Performing Arts students from Worthing College secured two awards at the Dance Live! heats last month.
Dance, drama and CAPA (creative & performing arts) students came together to produce an 80s gaming themed production in the senior heats of the competition, which took place at Portsmouth Guildhall.
The action-packed dance routine was set to an imaginative retro video concept, which saw the college win the Video Journey Award as well as pick up the prize for their LED Screen.
Lecturer Ashley Arnott said: “The students have worked so hard, supporting each other as a team and they’ve really done the college proud.
“They’ve been rehearsing for months, demonstrating their dedication to putting on the very best show they could – and it all came together on the night; the lighting, the screen, costumes and choreography.
“The standard of competition was exceptionally high, and we could have asked for more from our amazing students.”
Dance Live! is a revolutionary dance event for schools and colleges, created by The Guildhall Trust.
It embraces the digital world and sees students in schools and colleges compete with choreographed routines to the backdrop of a giant digital screen with students showcasing a range of skills, from dance and performance to off-stage technical skills and creative design.
