College students inspired by visit to prestigious university

A selection of students from Worthing College recently visited St Johns College Oxford as part of their Competitive University Preparation Programme.

The students, who are currently studying a range of A-levels in different subject areas, were welcomed with a busy schedule for their visit last month. 

Upon arrival, the group took a campus tour with a tour guide pointing the students in the direction of key historical buildings such as the Bodleian Library where they took part in a variety of researching activities. 

After a lunch break by the Sheldonian Theatre, a current Oxford student gave a full insight into campus life – a perfect opportunity for a Q&A. 

Steven Foden, Aspire Co-Ordinator at Worthing College, said: “It was such a fantastic experience for our students at Oxford. 

“Not only were the team at St Johns College Oxford extremely welcoming and informative, but they were extremely inspiring, and no question was left unanswered.”
