COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is designed for anyone who has an interest in mechanical engineering, machining, restoration and creative metalwork as a hobby, pastime or to enhance your existing skills. No experience required.
Instruction in the safe and efficient use of a wide range of Mechanical Engineering machining equipment and processes and requested by members of the course. Using Lathes, Milling machines, bench fitting, welding, fabrication, Grinding and so forth, using our extensive workshop facilities.
Material requirements will depend on individual projects that students may want to do. Students must have a set of safety boots and glasses. Dust coats and other protective gear are supplied.
This course runs on a Tuesday evening 18:00-20:30

This course has provided opportunities for people who already work in engineering to gain knowledge and skills that have empowered them to make progress in the work place. There are also benefits from undertaking this course when enrolling on other courses that involve practical hand skills such as sculpture and creative metalwork practices.
