ABOUT THE ACADEMY

The Netball Academy at Worthing College combines a variety of academic pathways with high level training and performance against some of the best netball players both in the south east and nationally.

The focus at the Academy is to not only develop the players performance, but also achieve academic excellence across a varied academic pathway, whether it be A-levels, BTEC or a combination, where our Academy students have realized their full potential and have achieved outstanding results. 

The academic and training pathway fit around each other, allowing potential to be met across both areas, leading to a wider range of progression opportunities through university, apprenticeships or employment.

Training & Matches

udents at the Netball Academy receive two high quality training sessions from well qualified coaching staff each week to develop technical and tactical awareness. At Worthing College we also focus on the psychological side of performance, which is vital in terms of Netball development.

The Netball Academy take full advantage of the excellent College facilities, including the College gym, where students get the opportunity to work with a strength and conditioning coach.

The Netball Academy at Worthing College competes at a high level by travelling to Hampshire to take on some of the best Colleges’ in the South. This allows players to test themselves and provides a highly effective learning environment.

The squad competes each week in the following competitions, allowing maximum player and team development:

  • Hampshire Colleges League
  • Sussex Netball County Cup
  • AoC National Colleges’ Cup
  • National Schools Netball Tournament

The Netball Academy at Worthing College is also linked to the Sussex NRG Regional side, which provides students the opportunity to progress through the regional levels of netball and beyond.
