For the third year in a row, as part of the Men’s Football Performance Programme at Worthing College, members of the football squad travelled out to Salou, Spain for their annual training camp. Off the back of the success of last year's training camp in Villafranca, Italy the coaching staff led by Performance Coach Dave Hall.
The aim was to provide the players with an intense and high quality training and playing experience along with taking in the Spanish playing culture which included a stadium tour of the famous Camp Nou in Barcelona.
This part of the season is vital as it’s termed as the “business” end of the season and with both squads involved in League and Cup shake ups, this training camp is vital to engage the players in a professional environment as well as providing outstanding experience for the students personal development.
Staff on the training camp included Jimmy Punter (Performance Coach), who worked with players technically and tactically, duo Nathan DaCosta and Harry Short (from our partners at the Sussex Performance Centre) who covered the players Strength & Conditioning and FdSc lecturer Steve Braybrook who provided some outstanding work developing player movement as well as recovery through yoga.
