On Tuesday 27th March we held an Open Event with a range of interactive sessions to help prospective students and parents/carers learn about the unrivalled mix of opportunities we have available for post 16 education.
For many, who have already applied and accepted their offer, it was an opportunity to come back to the college and get an experience of the subject they’re looking to study.
Parents were also able to opt for specific sessions on support and guidance and the benefits of vocational courses and how they can be combined with A levels. A session hosted by the Principal, Paul Riley, was very popular as it lived up to its billing; ‘All your questions answered’
Paul Riley said “We want all prospective students and their families to know the breadth of the subject options which can be combined to meet their individual needs as we don’t have any blocking restrictions here at the college. The extensive number of courses and the ability to mix a combination of A Level and vocational courses is unique in the local area and is designed to help students maximise their potential so there really is no need to travel to find a fantastic education after school”.
We celebrated our third year of impressive exam results in the summer of 2017 with a 98.9% pass rate in A Levels and a 97.3% pass rate in vocational courses.
