Trips are important for students and their education, it gives them a broader experience of the world around them and helps put what’s taught in the classroom into practice in the real world.
Our Year 12 Geography students got the opportunity to go to Margam, in South Wales, for a week’s residential Fieldtrip, visiting beach and sand dune locations and the seaside town of Porthcawl.
The trip was for them to experience collecting primary data and to develop important geographical skills, getting a real insight into the practical side of geography. The data that each student gathered was used to write individual coursework investigations, which then forms 20% of their A level grade.
Our students really made the most of the week’s residential trip and all enjoyed spending time working with each other on the tasks given – they even celebrated a birthday while they were away!
You can see photos of the trip and what our students got up to below.
