Criminology Students Attend Institute of Criminal Justice Studies Taster Day

On Tuesday 14th January, the Social Science department took a group of Criminology students to a taster day at the University of Portsmouth.

The students had a great opportunity to learn more about the criminal justice system by attending the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies where they experienced lectures and sessions. These sessions included how to improve prisons; new developments in fingerprinting techniques, as well as a brilliant session led by a police detective on investigating a real murder case.

These are all areas that will help students improve their understanding of the modules on their course, whilst giving some fantastic real life examples of what to expect if they choose to study the subject at university.
