At the end of February, the Visual Arts and Media department took a group of thirty students to Paris for four days to explore the city, visit the incredible selection of museums and galleries and to see the sights! Visual Arts Technician, Harriet Broom, shares her experience of the Paris trip below:
We began our trip by climbing to the highest point in the city, exploring the area of Montmartre and looking out over the city at night. Looking round the Sacré Coeur at night time was definitely a highlight!
For the following couple of days, we visited a wealth of different galleries and museums, including the Picasso Museum, The Pompidou Centre, Musée D’Orsay and Atelier des Lumières. Each of these places were full of inspiration and ideas for the students’ work, with the Musée D’Orsay being a particular highlight!
We finished the week with a visit to the Catacombs and of course to the top of the Eiffel Tower! A fun and enriching week was had by all, and we left feeling inspired by all that we had seen!
