Last week some of our BTEC Environmental Sustainability students spent the afternoon on Worthing seafront to complete a range of data collection on the coastal management of the area.
The overall aim of the trip was to collect data to gather evidence to answer the question ‘Is coastal management in Worthing effective?’ They collected data including taking photos, an activity survey and a questionnaire of pedestrians to find out their opinions on coastal management. They also conducted beach profile measurements on the length and slop of the beach and sediment analysis on pebble size and roundness to explore levels of erosion.
Last year saw us celebrate the best results in the country for BTEC Environmental Sustainability for the third year in a row. 100% of our students achieved Distinction Star or Distinction grades. Find out more about our Geography and Environmental Science Courses here.
