All year 12 students are expected to gain experience of a workplace, either through a work placement, a workplace visit or work shadowing.
Work experience gives students important insights into their career interests as well as a competitive advantage in the job market – about 80% of employers think work experience is essential.
Students are expected to arrange their own placements but support will be provided by tutors, teachers and our Progression+ team.
We will conduct health and safety assessments and safeguarding checks to ensure all placements are safe.
Students can arrange their work placement at any time in the year that does not clash with other commitments. There is also a dedicated work experience week in the college calendar in early July. Click here to see for full details about Students Work Placements.
