COURSE OVERVIEW
Living and Working in the UK is a qualification for ESOL students who would like to develop their communication and employment ready skills. This unit will help you to develop specific skills that employers are looking for and from Sep-Dec you will focus on developing you speaking and listening skills and developing a greater understanding about life in the UK. From Jan-Mar there will have a greater emphasis on reading and digital skills. From April – May you will focus on developing your grammar and employability skill.
This course forms part of a full-time programme focusing on ESOL skills and developing knowledge about life and work in the UK.

- Courts in the UK
FURTHER INFORMATION
No formal qualifications are required to take this subject. Ideally you will have completed or be working towards Level 1 ESOL before starting the course. Your level of English will be tested to make sure you are studying the right level of ESOL.
Completing this course will give you a range of skills and knowledge that will support you working in the UK.
You will produce a portfolio of work for each unit and these will be assessed by your teacher. There are no external exams.
If you receive full funding, there will be no charge for this course.

HOW THE APPLICATION PROCESS WORKS
Set Up Your Account
You’ll be prompted to create an account which will allow you to log in to our Application Tracker website whenever you wish. This will provide you with important information and you can also track the progress of your application.

Complete each step of the application form and then submit your completed form. We’ll let you know when we’ve safely received it with an acknowledgement email.
Application Review Meeting
Before offering you a place at college, we’ll meet with you (either in person, by telephone or online). We’ll send you a link to our booking page where you can select a time that’s convenient for you.
Accept Your Place
Offers will be sent to you via the email address you have provided. The offer will be conditional, based on predicted GCSE grades. You’ll need to accept your offer within 14 days to secure your place.
What next?
Once you receive your GCSE results, you’ll need to get in touch with the college to inform us of them and start your enrolment process.
