What you can expect while you are a Worthing College Student
Tutor
- Your point of contact about issues that might affect your work.
- Weekly meetings and regular one to one personal tutorials to discuss your progress.
- Advice on such matters as study skills, time management and careers.
Tutors are also the first point of contact for parents/careres of students aged 16-18 years.

Learning Services
- A well equipped Learning Resources Centre, with a full range of text books, background reading, magazines and newspapers and audio visual resources.
- Networked computer workstations with full internet and e-mail access.
- Specialist IT & resource centres for Science, Maths and Languages.
Additional Support
- Individual support for students with specific Learning Difficulties and Disabilities and other
particular needs.
- New assessments for anything that could affect your learning.
- Special arrangements for examinations.
Key Skills
- Key Skills are those skills that help you in your life and work. The college will help students to improve their skills in number, communication or information technology according to their needs.
Regular Subject Consultation Events
- Opportunities to discuss your work with subject tutors on a regular basis.
- A programme for developing action plans and setting targets on all of your courses.
- Consultation evenings for parents/guardians are an important feature of Worthing College. Subject reports and statements of achievements are sent home regularly.
A Confidential Advice Service
- Support on issues such as finance, health, housing and relationships.
- Counselling services by arrangement.
The Student Union
- Part of The National Union of Students (NUS).
- A wide range of social and cultural events arranged on behalf of students.
- Key charity events such as quiz evenings and special collections.
Nursery
Help with childcare whilst you study
- Up to £5125 per child, per year, to cover the cost of childcare.
- An on-site nursery for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
- Good quality, accessible childcare registered with Ofsted.
- Attractive, purpose-built accommodation.
- Places are available on a full or part-time basis to fit in with your studies.
- Open from 7.30 am to 6pm, Monday Friday, all year round.
